Oh, man, old Charles E. Pizza. I am old enough to remember ShowBiz, too. With the bear singers that were like Disney's Country Bear Jamboree but legally distinct from Disney's Country Bear Jamboree. 😂
Also love the Andean bear so much! I have a bear manuscript featuring them, Bearly Asleep, that I'm querying agents with right now. 🤞
Good luck with your Substack--looking forward to reading it.
Oh wow. This hit home. Both because $40 is the rate at which I myself spend money in C.E.C. and also because my partner and I are just starting to think about thinking about adopting.
Oh wow, best of luck to you! It's a long process (a couple years for us), but of course worth every minute when it works out. I hope one of you is good at paperwork.
Ah thanks... I’m not sure yet what we’ll do. But no matter what it is I have a feeling there will be paperwork and that we’ll have an avoid-off to find out who will be doing it.
I am a 4th grade teacher in Bellingham, WA and you can thank me for an additional 25-30 young fans each school year. ;) By October each year, Adam Rex is a household name…err, a classroom name…in Room 231. (Mac Barnett, who?)
As soon as I got my hands on a copy of Digestion! The Musical, I eagerly read it aloud to my group of too-cool-for-picture-book students. They may have been skeptical at first (which might have had something to do with my sad attempts to sing some verses…eek, sorry kids) but as soon as that disco toilet dropped…the potty had started!!! Bam bam bammmm! You know what a nine-year-old likes…and this teacher is forever grateful for your genius and wit which often times is what gets me through the day with these little darlings. :)
I definitely will! They will be thrilled and maybe I’ll earn some cool points for “knowing” you! :) Keep writing and illustrating refreshingly funny books and I’ll be honored to share the love! Thank you!
THIS IS FUN. I don't know why I'm yelling.
Keep it down, Falatko. The newsletter next door is trying record a podcast.
Just the right length and frankly, I love how it bounces around. More!
Brilliant–I'm going to enjoy reading these.
"That is what the free market has also been asking." I laughed out loud.
Interestingly random... brain adjusting.. but still loving it cos I'm a fan, so I will like everything you write! 🥰🤪
This was absolutely everything I wanted 👏

Loved this first newsletter!
Great length; love the tone and the mix of subjects!
Samesies. Except our local Chuck E Cheese went out of business - best thing to come out of the pandemic, honestly.
This is the most entertaining newsletter I am subscribed to and at this point, my inbox is only filled with subscriptions. So, hot dog!

Whatever. The End.

H Jenovia! I loved to hear this. I feel like I should say THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE. Tell your kids hi for me.
I definitely will! They will be thrilled and maybe I’ll earn some cool points for “knowing” you! :) Keep writing and illustrating refreshingly funny books and I’ll be honored to share the love! Thank you!
Perfect length, and hilarious, of course! Thanks for the fun content and awesome books.
Thank you, Jessica!
I love Frankenstein Makes a Sandwich! And I loved this post -- it's just right. (Glad I found your newsletter, Adam.)
I'm glad you found it, too! Thanks for the feedback, Sarah.
