The whole thing is a callback to my confusion, years ago, when I was told I'd gotten my first starred review. I took "starred review" to mean, "a review that employs a star-based rating system," and it didn't sound like much of a distinction. Like a teacher telling you they'd given your recent term paper a letter grade.
Congratulations, Adam! I've been recommending Gumluck to all my friends and nieces. I've just started my fourth read-through with my four-year old. She loves it too!
I don't have a substack (yet) but I have to pop in here and say go, Gumluck, go! Just look at all those stars. Michelin stars for the best chefs only go as high as THREE stars, so you are way ahead and you didn't spend all your money on culinary foam. Book 3 is going to rule.
Your entire career gets five stars, at least from me. (Doesn't count for much, I know, but hopefully it's better than nothing 😂😉)
